Dr. Busch is the President of IBIS Associates, Inc. and one of its founding members. His doctoral research was completed at M.I.T. in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. A former materials engineer at United Technologies, Dr. Busch has worked extensively on modeling manufacturing operations, and in the selection of materials for engineering applications. At IBIS, he has specialized in technology assessments and business development for a broad range of materials-based organizations, including suppliers, users, and government research laboratories

He has served on the board of directors of Brunswick Technologies, an innovative composites reinforcement supplier, and is a special partner in a venture capital fund for investing in emerging specialty materials and chemicals businesses. Dr. Busch was appointed to the National Materials Advisory Board, a branch of the National Research Council, which promotes the advancement of materials science and engineering in the national interest.
